Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez encourages Barcelona to sign 2 new players recommended by Xavi this summer

Barcelona have announced that their coach Xavi Hernandez has recommended the signing of two new players this summer. Barcelona feel that their failure to lift the La Liga last season was due to their lack of a leader.

  • One of those 2 players is Robert Lewandowski. Lewandowski has been chased down by several clubs. A lot of them however have been forced to pull out as a result of the intimidation posed on them by Bayern Munich. Barcelona is the only side remaining in the race for Robert Lewandowski. Lewandowski has said openly that he wants to join Barcelona. He said “I am only interested in joining Barcelona and no other club”. Lewandowski’s has been considered as that leader that Barcelona lacks ever since the departure of club legend Leo Messi. Barcelona have had two offers placed on the table of Bayern Munich. Bayern Munich have however declined those 2 offers. Barcelona are expected to place another offer worth €50m despite Bayern Munich demanding €60m.
  • Bernardo Silva is the second player who Xavi Hernandez recommended for Barcelona to sign. Bernardo Silva plays for Manchester City. His contract expires in 2025. Bernardo Silva has told Manchester City to listen to Barcelona’s offer for him. With the expected departure of Frenkie De Jong and Laporta’s new deviced means of generating £700m, Barcelona are searching for a replacement for Frenkie De Jong. Xavi Hernandez has recommended Portuguese Midfielder Bernardo Silva. Bernardo plays in the same position as Frenkie De Jong. He plays as an attacking midfielder. Manchester City are asking for nothing less than €90m for him.
