Graham Potter Explains Why Joao Felix Was Subbed Early for Gallagher

Graham Potter made a decision during the early moments of the second half that got fans talking. His decision to bring off Joao Felix for Connor Gallagher was shocking and he explained exactly why he made such decision.

According to football.london this was what Graham Potter Said; “Tactically. I wanted to use an extra midfielder. I felt we needed someone who could ball win, a different profile and I thought Conor was fantastic.

Chelsea were getting cooked in midfield so he had to introduce another Midfielder who could join both the attack and destroy in Midfield in which Gallagher did perfectly.

During the second half Chelsea reverted to a 3-5-2 formation with Gallagher being just behind the two attackers not necessarily creating any chance but helping with the stability in midfield whenever Enzo Fernandez tried venturing to create something for the attack.
