Arsenal are reportedly leading the race to sign Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio with the Spaniard attracting interests from several top clubs.
AC Milan are one of the the other clubs interested in signing Asensio, as per Sport mediaset via Sport Witness but the players wages stand as a stumbling block to a move to the San Siro being completed.
Asensio’s Real Madrid contract expires in the summer of 2023 and he’s already seeking a move elsewhere ahead of time. The Spanish winger reportedly wants a pay rise to his €7 million per year salary but Los Blancos would not go higher than the status quo in their new contract offer and even AC Milan who have shown an interest in the Spaniard won’t be able to meet his wage demands.

Arsenal have been mentioned as the club capable of meeting Asensio’s contract demands and a signing is said to be feasible in the summer as Real Madrid are demanding a fee of around €25 million for the winger who is looking to resurrect his career after finding himself down the pecking order under Ancellotti this season.
This is certainly one to keep an eye on for the summer as the Gunners are in the market for an attacking talent. Would Edu and Arteta sanction a move for Asensio? Remains to be seen.
